Pi Day Activities for Kids | FREE

Next Sunday is Pi Day! 3.14

Here are a few simple and fun ways to celebrate Pi Day with your learners.

1. Read-Alouds
Read-alouds are one of the best ways to celebrate Pi Day with your learners. Stories help make mathematical ideas easier to understand and more engaging. We’ve included links to free, high-quality YouTube read-alouds:

2. Short Videos
A short introductory video can help learners see and understand the concept of pi. Watching together and talking about what they notice is a fun way to start your Pi Day celebration. We especially like this short video from PBS Kids.

3. Drawing and Writing
Extend the learning with a creative activity. Drawing and writing give learners a chance to reflect on what they learned. We created a free printable to help keep your learners engaged.

Bonus: Pie and pi are rhyming words! Reading fun books about pies while enjoying a slice of pie on Pi Day is, of course, always a fantastic way to add extra fun to your celebration.

And speaking of pies, what is your favorite kind of pie? Share your favorite in the comment section below. We’d love to hear from you!
