The Story Behind SkillPathway

I’ve been creating learning resources for as long as I can remember.

When I was a kid, I would make graphic organizers, study schedules, and review sheets, anything I thought might help me understand my lessons better and reach my academic goals. I even used my own study materials to teach my cousins and classmates how to read and write in English. 

In high school, I first experienced the real value of my work when one of my classmates asked me to create a test prep sheet in exchange for a Backstreet Boys magazine. I remember the excitement of making it, thinking it was just a simple, fun exchange at the time. Later, she came back to share her test score with me. She was smiling as she told me how proud and happy both she and her parents were with the result. It was incredibly rewarding to realize that something I had created could help someone else succeed.

When I became a teacher, that same passion naturally carried into my classroom. I created resources to meet my students where they were and helped them experience success in ways that felt meaningful, joyful, and empowering. 

As a learning facilitator and grade-level team leader, I continued to create, revise, evaluate, and recommend resources to support my fellow teachers in our shared goal of improving student engagement and learning outcomes.

Throughout my career, I have learned that meaningful learning is not driven by a scripted curriculum or the latest educational trend. It happens when learners are guided and encouraged by caring adults whose focus is on the learner: what they need, how they learn, and how we can best support their growth and development.

An important part of that support is having the right learning tools and knowing how to use them effectively to help learners succeed. Effective resources are not just engaging or well-designed. They must also be purposeful, practical, and intentionally created to support both learners and educators.

At SkillPathway, my team and I are committed to designing purposeful learning resources that empower learners and support the adults who guide them.

At SkillPathway, we believe that a strong foundation in the early years can shape a child's future. Guided by caring adults and equipped with effective teaching and learning tools, learners can build the knowledge, skills, and mindsets they need to overcome challenges, embrace opportunities, and thrive throughout their learning journey and beyond.
